Late Bloomers

We had a great Memorial Day weekend.  We were happy and relaxed, and thankfully that includes my husband who is still on the mend from a back injury.  He was able to make it out on a couple trial bike rides, and that is a very good thing.  The weather could have been a teensy bit better though--even though it was in the 50s, the wind made it feel a little chilly.  If it had been better we probably would have been out adventuring on the bikes as a family, but we ended up doing yard work and hanging out with the neighbors instead.

My son and I took a little trip to the U-pick flower farm, Sunshine Farms in Pullman, and even though it was early season there as well, we found some lovely peonies.  Well at least I did, while he chased the farm dog around.

Now that it's nearly June, the lilacs finally bloomed.  Without a doubt, lilacs are my favorite flower.  I could (and likely will) fill every vessel I have with them for as long as they last.
